  • Norfolk Southern train 46E, enroute from Elkhart Indiana to Grand Rapids Michigan, is accelerating northward through the Kalamazoo River Valley after rolling through downtown Kalamazoo. The identity of this point on the railroad, in Cooper Township, is identified solely by the solitary reflective sign stating simply "Coop". The train is making good time northward, hauling empty freight cars that will be filled with stamped auto body panels at the General Motors Fisher Body facility in Grand Rapids.
